Dear BHS Families,
*Please note this message is only for families that use private vehicles to drop off and/or pick up their children from school.
We have noticed (including resident feedback) that on Alnwick Road, numerous families are parking along the road, blocking both footpaths and sections of the roadway. This has created significant safety risks and daily inconveniences for our community.
More Specifically:
Blocked Footpaths: Parked vehicles routinely obstruct pedestrian pathways, forcing residents—including young children and elderly individuals—to walk directly on the road. This is particularly dangerous given the increased traffic during drop off and pick up times.
Road Access Difficulties: The congestion caused by parked cars makes it challenging for our residents' cars to enter or exit their driveways safely, creating a risk of accidents and delays.
The above mentioned combination of pedestrians on the road and erratic parking creates a dangerous environment for everyone.
I respectfully ask all of our private vehicle drivers to make the best possible choices in the interests of keeping everyone safe.
Kind regards - Dr. Jamie Schmitz
