Hi Moses,

You should now be able to get to your new pages through the student button at the top of the page under 2012 - 13. You should also still be able to see last years pages under 2011-12.

Let me know if you have any problem seeing them.

ahh, I understand now.

For the glittery writing you could use quick embed to embed writing made using glitx.com . If you want to add more things to pages then you could ask Mr Pheasant.

Hi all,

Everyone's profile says that. The reason is that when the site was set up and all the users added the clock hadn't been set properly. So The Beacon thought it was 1970 when you were all added. Shortly after that the clock was set to the correct date.

Maybe (in response to your 1970 thing, Edith).....however, it would mean we were very old fashioned and could be parents right now!! NOT A GOOD IDEA. No offence. It would be really nice if we had the forum page though.

i think it is because we have to be at a certain age to have an account to access the beacon. like faceboook, for example. you have to be at least 14 (was it 13 or 14??) to register and have an account. lol :-)

I like the forum idea as well. I'd happily set it up but we would need to make sure we had some pretty good rules in place for how we treat each other online and also have a team of moderators (maybe from Y6) who could keep things safe for everyone.

With the rules though I think we could simply try to treat each other as we would if we talked in person.

Hi Claudia,
I had the same problem with my page a few weeks back and I couldn't embed anything on either. But now, it should work ok. Justin's idea is quite good but another idea is to go back onto the Beacon page and go back in or to turn editing on and then off again. Or go do something else and come back in a mediumish period of time. Hope this works!
